Group 1: Observational study - Assessment of perioperative characteristics and postoperative outcome of patients with infective endocarditis receiving surgical valve replacement

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - patients with infective endocardtitis according to the Duke-criteria and indication for cardiac surgery - informed consent - age = 18 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - lack of informed consent - age < 18 years

Major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) within 30 days after cardiac surgery Composite endpoint consisting of: - all-cause mortality - non-fatal myocardial infarction - non-fatal cerebrovascular event (stroke or TIA)	—
