Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - first stroke subacute phase (at least 10 days to 6 months post-stroke) - paresis of the upper extremities - minimal hand functions - age between 18 and 80 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - previous strokes in the medical history - other (other than stroke) acute or pre-existing central nervous disorders or brain injuries associated with cognitive impairment

MeasureTime frame
Motor outcome measurement (quantified via the 1st main component from Nine-Hole-Peg-Test, Hand Force Test, Jebsen-Taylor-Test, Action-Research-Arm-Test, ADL/IADL) after three weeks of therapy (time T1; neurofeedback training or standard therapy)

MeasureTime frame
- cognitive outcome (quantified via the 1st main component of alertness, attention division, attention selection, concentration performance, verbal memory) after three weeks of therapy (time T1; neurofeedback training or standard therapy) - quantitative EEG (QEEG) for T0 and T1 - relationships between motor and cognitive outcome, QEEG and NFT progression
