Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: We will recruit participants between 18-65 years, from a patient population that is diagnosed with social anxiety disorder (F40.1). Participants will be diagnosed according to DSM-5 criteria, based on the SKID-I, axis 1: anxiety disorder section. Participants from the healthy control will be between 18-65 years old and will be included if they do not suffer under any mental disorder according to DSM-5 criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded if they suffer from a current severe depression with or without psychotic symptoms (F32.2, F32.3, F33.2 or F33.3), current borderline or antisocial personality disorder, current suicidality, current life-time schizophrenic spectrum disorder, manic disorder (F2x.x) and bipolar (F31.x), current substance dependency (alcohol, heroin, amphetamin, cocain; at least 12 months), current severe neurological disorder of the central nervous system, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cardiac disease, Body Mass Index >35 or 50mg per day, neuroleptics with a dosage of > 30% of the daily dosage.
