Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: People aged 80 and over: • Age: 80 years and older • Ability to consent to study participation after the study information has been provided • According to the nursing staff's own assessment and statements, patients are physically, cognitively and linguistically able to answer questions over a period of 60 minutes Life-impaired people: • Life-limiting medical diagnosis, an improvement in the course of the disease is not to be expected • Ability to consent to study participation after the study information has been provided • According to the nursing staff's own assessment and statements, patients are physically, cognitively and linguistically able to answer the questions over a period of 60 minutes
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Severe current health problems that do not allow participation in the study according to the doctor's clinical judgment • Cognitive impairments, which preclude an informed ability to consent according to the clinical judgment of the doctor • language skills not sufficient

| The planned interview study does not involve physical interventions for the participants; all interventions are non-pharmacological. The interviews are planned over a period of approximately 60 minutes. The content of the semi-structured interviews will relate to a retrospective examination of the confrontation with one's own finitude and the effects. For the development of lay-concepts, needs and wishes will be researched. The collection of the data is scheduled for April 2020 and should be completed by April 2021. | — |
