Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Participants > 6 years old • diagnostic documents (PSA, FRS, models at least beginning / end orthodontic therapy) relevant for the individual examinations (outcomes) available in the context of medically indicated diagnostics and therapy with the exception of the saliva sample to be obtained in the course of the study • no previous orthodontic therapy • no syndromes / dentofacial anomalies (e.g. LKG columns) • no trauma and no previous surgery in the craniofacial area • Patients from Central Europe (genetic origin), max. 1 grandparent not Central Europe

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Craniofacial morphology: Sagittal-vertical relationship with the jaw and other skeletal morphological aspects (cephalometric x-ray image) WHAT: various skeletal and dentofacial parameters in analysis of lateral radiographs WHEN: retrospectively at start, during and after orthodontic therapy HOW: established analysis "Regensburger Analyse 2019" of lateral radiographs taken at the beginning, during and after orthoontic treatment for medical-diagnostic reasons

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Craniofacial morphology: Rugae palatinae (digitized plaster situation models of the upper jaw) - Dentofacial morphology: Tooth measurements (morphology of the tooth crowns, digitized plaster models of the upper and lower dental arch) - Dentofacial morphology: Proportion of the tooth portions (crown, body, root) and tooth length (panoramic layer image PSA / OPG) - Tooth development: stages of mineralization (early / late tooth development, panoramic slice PSA / OPG) - External apical tooth root resorptions: (panoramic slice image PSA / OPG) - Speed of orthodontic tooth movement (digitized plaster models of the upper and lower dental arch)
