Inclusion criteria: - Displaced intraarticular calcaneal fractures - C-nail or plate osteosynthesis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Follow-up < 6 months - other operative techniques than c-nail or plate osteosynthesis

Rate of postoperative infection (wound necrosis, superficial and deep infections including osteomyelitis)

- Reconstruction of the subtalar joint - Bony fusion - Full weight bearing - Function - Arthrosis and arthrodesis of the subtalar joint - Complications (osteomyelitis, dislocation of the osteosynthesis material, re-operation)
