Group 1: Patients who will be assigned to treatment group will be provided with smartphone app. Patients will be trained on how to use the app. Patients will be followed by telephone calls every 4 wee

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Age between 18–60 years • Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes • HbA1c > 8% during screening • Patients who have their own smartphones and ability to use it • No chronic complications associated with incapacity • Willing to use Smartphone app for diabetes
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Pregnancy • Type 1 diabetes • Already using any smartphone app for diabetes management • Any condition that will impair smartphone use
