Group 1: Training group: Patients allocated to the training group visit the humor training in small groups as part of their inpatient stay. The training consists of four one-hour training sessions. A

Inclusion criteria: No severe cognitive deficits, good German language skills

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe cognitive deficits, linguistic difficulties

MeasureTime frame
Actual pain intensity, Depression scale of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) --> Both completed within the German pain questionnaire (Deutscher Schmerzfragebogen, DSF) at the beginning (pretest) and end (posttest) of the inpatient stay, as well as in a 3 months follow-up.

Quality of Life Impairment by Pain Inventory (QLIP), Subscale "Self-Enhancing Humor" of the Humor Styles Questionnaire (HSQ), State version of the State Trait Cheerfulness Inventory (STCI-S), Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), Positive And Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), --> each completed at the beginning (pretest) and end (posttest) of the inpatient stay, as well as in a 3 months follow-up. Feedback questionnaire for the training group at posttest measurment
