Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Waist circumference = 88 cm for women or = 102 cm for men BMI between 25-40 kg / m² Sufficient German language skills, Written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute infectious disease, Severe chronic illness, Cancer (exception: breast, prostate and colorectal carcinoma in remission), Insulin-treated diabetes mellitus, Psychiatric diseases, e.g. major depression, Pregnancy / Breastfeeding, Other reasons at the discretion of the family doctor

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
change (decrease) in patient's waist circumference and weight at study start, after 12 weeks, and after 9 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, Lipid status (total, LDL, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides) Fasting plasma glucose, HbA1c, Change in dietary behavior, change in physical activity, change in subjective well-being (WHO -5 - well-being questionnaire), Change of ESC, Framingham Score. All measurments will be taken at Study Start, after 12 weeks, and after 9 months.
