Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - time between baseline visit until follow-up time = 15 to 25 years - the patient have received a systematic periodontal therapy (anti-infective therapy including subgingival instrumentation under local anesthesia and possibly periodontal surgery) or did not receive it 15 to 25 years ago and received a regular recall - regular supportive periodontal therapy (SPT: If the recommended interval was once exceeded by 100% by the patient, this is classified as "irregular", all others are considered "regular".) or regular periodontal recall (at least 2x/year) over the past 15-25 years - periodontal chart (PPD and CAL-V at 6 sites / tooth,) before initiation of therapy and after completion of the active therapy phase (reevaluation 1 or 2 and start of SPT) in the test group - presence of X-ray images of all teeth from the time the therapy is started (± 12 months) - existence of a patient history at follow-up (± 12 months) - return of an OHIP-G49 questionnaire - written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - patients lacking the requirements under "inclusion criteria"

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Tooth loss 15-25 years after periodontal therapy, if it has occurred. This is retrospectively recorded on the basis of the patient records and the respective dental charts (number of teeth before therapy, number of teeth directly after therapy, number of teeth 15-25 years after therapy).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) OHIP-G49 questionnaire (validated) 2) pocket probing depths (PPD: measured with a millimeter-scaled probe from the marginal gingival margin to the bottom of the pocket) 3) attachment losses (CAL-V: measured from the enamel-cement border or the restoration margin to bottom of the pocket)
