Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -persisting physical symptoms for at least 6 months - SSD-12 total sum score = 18 - PHQ-15 total sum score >10 - written informed consent to participate

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -insufficient German skills -current or past psychotherapeutic treatment for somatoform disorders -acute need for treatment due to other comorbid mental disorders - acute intrinsic or foreign hazard

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Psychological (SSD-12 questionnaire) and physical symptom burden (PHQ-15 questionnaire) after one month compared to baseline, assessed in a telephone interview

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Acceptance and feasibility of the study intervention (qualitative interviews) directly after the intervention presentation and one month later, also after one month in the telephone interview, recording of remembered aspects of the explanatory model and influence on behavior.
