Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Women and men at the age of 65 and above. - Smartphone compatible with the Preventicus Heartbeats app - Part 1: Participant's confirmation of having read the app's terms of use and the data protection notice. Consent to participate in the study and to the app's terms and conditions of use and the data proctection notice. - Part 2: Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Screening programme Part 1: The participant does not own a smartphone with the minimum requirements for the Preventicus Heartbeats app (operating system iOS 9 and higher or Android 4.4 or higher) -Screening programme Part 2: previously diagnosed atrial fibrillation

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Percentage of participants having done at least 14 measurements during the screening phase. 2. Number of non-confirmed positive screening reports due to poor signal quality. 3. Number of non-evaluated ECG recordings due to poor signal quality.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Verification rate of atrial fibrillation detected by the app and verified by 14 day Holter ECG. 2. Percentage of newly detected atrial fibrillation. 3. Percentage of positive screening results in patients with previously diagnosed atrial fibrillation
