Inclusion criteria: - Participation in the “Check-Up35+” examination at a primary care physician - Age > 18 years - Written informed consent

Measure	Time frame
Anti-HCV (Anti-Hepatitis-C-Virus) prevalence in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Anti-HCV will be analyzed by the following test system: Cobas, Roche Diagnostics, Mannheim, Germany The anti-HCV prevalence will be calculated after 10000 patients in Hamburg and 20000 patients in Schleswig Holstein have been recruited.	—

- HCV-RNA prevalence in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein - Prevalence of elevated ALT values in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein including age and sex dependence - Difference in prevalence of HCV (anti-HCV, HCV-RNA) and elevated ALT values in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. - HCV risk factors - especially the above mentioned three pre-defined risk scenarios - will be analysed for “pooled” data and urban/rural data separately.	—
