Inclusion criteria: Nonsmoker, written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Regular supplementation of vitamin C, vitamin E and phytochemicals (e.g., tea or red wine extract), cow’s milk allergy, lactose intolerance, diseases of the liver, the kidneys and the gastrointestinal tract, metabolic disorders (e.g., dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus), eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa), pregnancy, lactation, drug abuse (narcotic and further psychotropic drugs), participation in another trial simultaneously or in the previous 30 days

Plasma appearance of (+)-catechin, (–)-catechin and epicatechin; Plasma concentrations before and 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 6.0 h after consumption.

Antioxidants (vitamin C, E, beta-carotene, uric acid), antioxidant capacity (TEAC), oxidative stress (peroxides, oxidized LDL, 8-hydroxy-2’deoxy-guanosin), insulin, lipids (total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides), blood pressure; Concentrations in serum/plasma before and 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 6.0 h after consumption.
