Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary endpoints are EMA items assessing successful implementation of one’s intentions to eat ‘in line with one’s goal’. In addition, end of the day intentions are compared with success of implementation on the following day. These endpoints will be expected to decrease throughout the two weeks of intervention in the treatment group more so than in the control group. Furthermore, these endpoints are expected to be improved in the post-EMA assessment relative to the pre-EMA assessment in the treatment relative to the wait list group.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes will be ‘ease of planning eating for the next day’, ‘satisfaction with eating’, ‘motivation to eat in line with one’s goal’, and ‘shopping in line with one’s goal’, higher amount of fruits and vegetables consumed, less impulsive food choices during intervention and at post-EMA. Relative to pre-intervention, at post-intervention and at the 2-weeks follow up, we expect improved scores on the ‚Weight Management Strategies Inventory‘ (Keller & Siegrist, 2015), ‚Mindful Eating Behavior Scale‘ (Winkens et al., 2018), ‚Self-Regulation in Eating Behavior Questionnaire‘ (Kliemann, Beeken, Wardle, & Johnson, 2016)‚ Salzburg Emotional Eating Scale‘ (Meule, Reichenberger, & Blechert, 2018), ‚Food Craving Questionnaire Trait – reduced‘ (Meule, Hermann, & Kübler, 2014), as well as on body mass.
