Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 9 to 13 years of age; right hand dominance; corrected-to or normal vision; no regular engagement (=1/week) in martial arts within 3 months prior to the intervention

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: receive special educational services related to cognitive impairments or attentional disorders; report color blindness; undergo pharmacotherapy for any mental disorder; report any medical condition, which poses an increased health risk during exercise activities

MeasureTime frame
Pre- to post-test changes in inhibitory control assessed from accuracy from NoGo trials and the P300 component of event-related potentials elicited from the Go/NoGo Task

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Pre- to posttest changes in working memory capacity (K-Score on Change Detection task; CDA component of event-related potentials), aerobic fitness (PWC170) and motor skills (Movement ABC-2)
