Interventions

Group 1: In patients post hallux valgus surgery with MAGNEZIX(R) a) the hydrogen concentration will be measured at the big toe, and b) whether any metal can be detected.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Hallux valgus surgery with MAGNEZIX® CS compression screw. • Mild or moderate hallux valgus (ICD M20.1) prior to surgery. • Age =18 years. • Written informed consent. • Operation nicht später als 31.05.2019

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Pregnancy, suspected pregnancy or lactation period. • Revision surgery or additional surgery on the same foot. • Electronic implant, such as pace maker.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Hydrogen concentration measured with a commercially available hydrogen concentration measurement approach. Measurements will be done when the patient is seen by a physician.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Amount of detected metal by use of a commercially available metal detector.
