Group 1: Observational non-interventional study to compare cardiac output measurement derived from thermodilution/pulse contour measurement system (PiCCo) with cardiac output measured by echocardiogra

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Severe ARDS (acute respiratory failure) with need of an extracorporale membrane Oxygenator in adult Patients; with possibility to reduce ECMO flow to 2 L/min.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Bad sonographic conditions; ECMO flow is not reducible to 2l/min; Death of patient before reaching inclusion criteria; VVA- ECMO; age <18
