Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists) I-III patients 2) surgical indication for partial/total thyroidectomy or surgical indication for parathyreoidektomie 3) surgical indication for elective surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) patients <18 years 2) missing informed consent 3) inability to participate in the evaluation of psychomotoric cognition 4) eye disease (diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma with mydriatic medication, ablatio retinae), post eye-operations 5) intracranial diseases (e.g. Tumors, aneurysms, cerebral edema) 6) Horner`s Syndrome, damage of sympathetic nerve fibers of cervical spine 7) ASA IV-V patients 8) dementia 9) patients suffering from chronic pain Syndrome and corresponding drug treatment

postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction (POCD-Test) 1. Test: preoperative in combination with the premedication-talks (3D CAM Assessment, Trail-making Test, Digital Symbol Substitution Test) 2. Test: postoperative 20-30 minutes after operation (3D CAM Assessment, Trail-making Test, Digital Symbol Substitution Test) 3. Test: postoperative not longer than 24 hours after operation ends (3D CAM Assessment, Trail-making Test, Digital Symbol Substitution Test)
