Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age of majority,gender-independent all patients who are planned to undergo total thyroidectomy for validation of the ThyPRO-39 questionnaire, gender-independent all patients who are planned to undergo thyroid surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients younger than 18 years of age poor German language skills Incompliance in calcium and magnesium intake taking thiazide diuretics or lithium Patients with recurrent surgery Refusal to participate in the study Chronic renal insufficiency Preexisting hyperparathyroidism with hypercalcemia Retirement by patient request

MeasureTime frame
Quality of life (using questionnaire ThyPRO-39, EQ-5D-5L) at 4 different times: 2 weeks before surgery, immediately before surgery at inpatient admission, before discharge from hospital and 6 weeks after surgery; Severity of postoperative paraesthesia (by means of query) during inpatient stay after surgery
