Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of clinical symptomatology measured by means of the Panic- and Agoraphobia-scale (PAS; Bandelow, 1999). Time of measurements are at baseline, after 4 weeks and post intervention (after 8 weeks). For exploratory analyses, a 3 month follow-up measurement will take place.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes will be measured at the above mentioned timepoints. To investigate changes in the physiological stress response, heart-rate variability (HRV), salivary cortisol and salivary alpha-Amylase will be measured. Furthermore, anxiety-specific outcomes will be measured by means of validated self-report questionnaires: Body Sensation Questionnaire (BSQ, Chambless 1984), Mobility Inventory (MI, Chambless 1984), Agoraphobic Cognitions Questionnaire (ACQ, Chambless 1984), Anxietysensitivity Index (ASI, Taylor 1998) will be evaluated. To tap into more general symptomatology the clinical global impression (CGI, Guy 1976), as well as the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II, Beck, Steer, & Brown, 1996) will be implemented. For further exploration of relevant mechanisms, psychological constructs, such as mindfulness, psychological flexibility, emotion regulation, wellbeing, stress perception, sport specific and motivational aspects will be measured. To evaluate short-term effects of Yoga training, the State-Trait-Anxiety-Inventory (STAI-S) and the mental state scale of Basel (BBS) will be utilized pre and post yoga classes.
