Interventions

Group 1: Patients who were treated with fixed prosthodontic restorations at our clinic are examined during regular recall sessions. The dental and periodontal status are documented.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who recieved fixed prosthodontic restorations in our department and who are participating in our recall system. The general health status of the patient must allow the attendance of the recall session.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who received fixed prosthodontic restorations elsewhere or who do no longer wish to participate in our recall programme. Further, patients younger than 18 years are excluded as well as patients whose health status does not allow the attendance of the recall session.

MeasureTime frame
survival rates of the restorations - date of evaluation: regular recall sessions - method used for evaluation: visual examination (with dental loupes)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
technical and biological complication rates - date of evaluation: regular recall sessions - methods used for evaluation: Visual (with dental loupes) and tactile (with dental probes) examination of the restoration. The periodontal health is examined by probing.
