Periodontal furcation defects class II

Interventions

Group 1: Before ultrasonic debridement and root planing, patients of test group will be receive adjunctive administration of an amino-acid buffered hypochlorite gel (Perisolv) in the furcation defect

18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Patients with chronic periodontitis - Patients with at least 10 teeth for arch. - Mandibular first and second molar with II class furcation involvement with a buccal PD 5 mm. - Presence of supra-bony and intrabony defects - Tooth mobility

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Patients with systemic diseases; - Patients with aggressive periodontitis; - Previous periodontal treatment in the last 2 years; - Prolonged antibiotic treatment or anti-inflammatory treatment within 6 months prior to periodontal therapy; - Mandibular Furcation involvement ( Class I and Class III); - Upper furcation involvement; - Pregnant or lactating; - Tobacco smokers (> 10 cigarettes/day); - Acute periodontal or endodontic abscess; - Third molars

At baseline and after 6-months follow-up period, the following clinical parameters will be taken: -FMPS= Full-mouth plaque score (%) -FMBS= Full-mouth bleeding score (%) -CAL= Clinical attachment level -REC= Gingival recession -Mob= Tooth Mobility -H-PD= Horizontal distance measured from the gingival margin and the bottom of furcation involvement - Furcation with BOP+
