Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. Age > 18 years (no age limit) b. able to consent c. Diagnosis of systolic heart failure in accordance with the latest available ESC/HF (European Society of Cardiology - Heart Failure) guideline (Ponikowski et al. 2016) (HFrEF)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Severe psychiatric disease including dementia - Thoracic wall disease - Cardiac pacemaker

Twitch trans-diaphragmatic pressure after magnetic cervical stimulation of the phrenic nerves [cmH2O] (on the day of the appointment in our laboratory and before, during and after diaphragm fatigue has been reached)
