Group 1: ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) only intervention group.
Participants will be those with a clinical diagnosis of ASD, to be subsequently confirmed by the Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revise

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For clinical groups, participants with (1) a diagnosis of ASD, (2) within the ages of 4 to 6 years, (3) both genders, (4) IQ 80 and above (5) Chinese only. For typically developing group, participants (1) within the ages of 4 to 6 years, (2) both genders, (3) IQ 80 and above (4) Chinese only.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ASD groups participants who do not meet the ADIR diagnostic cut-off scores will be excluded. Typically developing group participants should be screened negative by CAST for ASD and negative for other conditions by the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ).

| Behavioural and electrophysiological measures of facial and emotional processing will be administered at pre- and post- assessment session. 1) Emotion Vocabulary Task Participants will be asked to define 16 emotion words and give examples of situations that evoke these emotions. The emotion vocabulary includes 15 key emotions from The Transporters episodes, as well as “worried”, which is included because of its high frequency appearing in many episodes. The participant will complete the task at pre-intervention and post-intervention. 2) Situation-Facial Expression Matching (Emotion Recognition Task) Three tasks, each consisting of 16 subtests (each subtest involving one of 16 emotions mentioned above), will be used to test the participants’ ability to match social situations/events to the appropriate facial/emotional expressions. The three tasks represent three levels of generalization: Familiar close generalization (matching familiar situations taken from The Transporters series to facial expressions of familiar characters in the series), unfamiliar close generalization (matching novel situations with novel expressions from The Transporters characters), and distant generalization (matching novel situations with novel expressions from human but non-Transporters faces). Each subtest includes a photograph depicting a scene with a short description. The object or character in the scene is shown with no facial expression. At the bottom of the computer screen, three video clips portraying various facial expressions can be played when clicked, and the participants are asked to point to the facial expression that best describes how the object/character is feeling in the scene. The participant will complete the task at pre-intervention and post-intervention. 3) Electrophysiological measures Electrophysiological data will be collected using NetStation EGI’s Geodesic EEG System.
