Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -age >= 70 years -signed informed consent -surgical treatment of the distal radius fracture

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - dementia - additional injuries of the same extremity - additional ligamentous injuries of the wrist - conservatively treated patients

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
MAYO Wrist Score; follow-up at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Wrist function according to the DASH-Score (Disabilities of of Arm, Shoulder and Hand). Group comparisons of the Euroqol 5D as well as postoperative results on x-rays. Range of motion (wrist) according to the neutral-0-method (group comparisons). Follow-up at 2, 6 and 12 weeks as well as 6 and 12 months postoperatively.
