Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - all patients who receive general anaesthesia without muscle relaxation at the Catholic Clinic Bochum for surgery - ASA 1-3 ASA The Classification of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA Classification I-VI) is a widely applied categorization of the preoperative status of patients. It has a good predictive value regarding perioperative morbidity and mortality.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -patients under 18 years of age -patients older than 80 years -lack of information or agreement -Pregnancy -Simultaneous participation in another study -severe asthma/ COPD -chronic pain syndrome with long-term opioid therapy -intolerance to Sevoflurane (e.g. malignant hyperthermia or muscle disease) or opioids

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Percentage of spontaneous breathing in the OP time

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- Opioid consumption - Wake-up and extubation time - Operator satisfaction - etCO2 in target range during controlled ventilation (etCO2 30-40mmHg) - SpO2 in target range (SpO2 >94%) - PEEP, ventilation pressure difference and ventilation peak pressure - Dead space measurement (CO2- VT) - Pain score in the recovery room - Recovery room length of stay - Anaesthesia depth measurement using EEG (Narcotrend)
