Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age =18, polyneuropathy, healthy matched controls

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Taking antipruritic drugs, infection in the examination area

MeasureTime frame
The target value is the average nerve fiber density, IENFD, measured as fiber per millimeter. The following five groups will be compared regarding the IENFD: 1. pruritus and pain, 2. only pain, 3. only pruritus, 4. no pruritus and no pain, 5. healthy controls. A Kruskal-Wallis test (non-parametric test) will be used as the statistical test. During the examination, a biopsy will be taken to measure the nerve fiber density. Furthermore, the patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire.
