Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Degree of dementia: CDR memory value 9; subjective cognitive impairment, MCI, mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (ICD 10, NINCDS/ ADRDA criteria)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: CDR memory value = 2 or MMSE = 9; severe Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, levy body dementia, dementia in Parkinson's disease, other rare forms of dementia (corticobasal degeneration, Korsakoff's disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, PCA), severe psychiatric illness or previous illness (drug or alcohol abuse / - looking for the last 5 years, acute suicidality), brain tumor, cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, traumatic brain injury, acute inflammatory diseases of the CNS, hydrocephalus

MeasureTime frame
Within the scope of the study a small amount of blood (4x 9ml) should be taken from the arm vein from participants of the STAR-Studie to analyze different biomarkers of stress. Thereby we want to investigate whether persons with different levels of stress also differ in their energy metabolism, inflammatory processes, free oxygen radicals and various other metabolic products such as e.g. proteins and fats and whether this is also related to the memory function. In addition, certain genetic variations (NR3C1, FKBP5 and ELOVL) are to be analyzed, which influence the stress response of the body and therefore could have an influence on the above-mentioned processes.

MeasureTime frame
The STAR study aims to identify different types of stress over the lifespan, including occupational stress (intensity and exercise margin questionnaire, FIT), stress-associated personality traits (EPQR-K, neuroticism), life events checklist (LEC), and neglect Childhood Abuse Experiences (Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, CTQ), and to correlate it with blood-related stress indicators in the STAR Bio study. The cognition at the time of completing the questionnaires is recorded using the Clinical Dementia Rating Scale (CDR), Shulman's Watch Test, and Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease (CERAD). In addition, routine clinical data such as CSF-derived dementia markers are also used in the study.
