Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Current pain intensity as measured by the numerical rating scale (0-10, NRS) on the day of admission (time T0), 3-5 days after tumor resection (time T1), at discharge (time T2). | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. There are differences in average and maximum pain intensity, pain-related impairment and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS) between the group of tumor patients with OSCC that received preoperative pain education and the control group, measured at admission day, 3-5 days after tumor resection and at the day of discharge. The parameters will be measured with the utilization of the numerical rating scale (0-10, NRS) and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS). 2. There is a longer-term positive impact of preoperative pain education on pain intensity, pain-related impairment and the value of DASS, 6 months (plus / minus 2 weeks) after discharge. The parameters will be measured with the utilization of the numerical rating scale (0-10, NRS) and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS). | — |
