Group 1: 1 g Uridine 5' Monophosphate dissolved in 200 mL orange juice was consumed orally after blood draw for assessment of serum uridine concentration in fasted state, followed by blood draws at 2h

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Non-smoker (no more than 2 cigarettes per month for the last 1 year) 2. BMI between 20-25 kg/m2 (healthy weight)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Serious or unstable medical illness (e.g. cancer) 2. Past or current history of alcoholism or consistent drug use 3. Current and history of major psychiatric illness as defined by the DSM-IV criteria including eating disorders 4. Regular medication, especially medications that affect alertness (e.g. barbiturates, benzodiazepines, chloral hydrate, haloperidol, lithium, carbamazepine, phenytoin, etc.) and any psychoactive drugs or anti-obesity agents 5. History of major head trauma with loss of consciousness 6. Diabetes 7. Any known food allergy, food sensitivities (e.g. lactose or gluten) or incompatibilities 8. Dysphagia 9. Acute disease affecting food intake (e.g. common cold)
