Interventions

Group 1: All patients will receive the same form of psychotherapy (i.e., imagery rescripting). Treatment will enable processing of aversive memories and associated emoions and cognitions

18 Years to 67 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aversive and repetitive cognitions/dreams about aversive events; principle diagnosis of: PTSD, Major Depression, anxiety disorder, eating disorder, pain disorder, somatization disorder, OCD, BDD, adjustment disorder, or prolonged grief disorder; adulthood.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Current substance abuse; psychotic disorder or bipolar disorder; BMI < 17.5; current suicidality or endangerment to others, current psychotherapy or psychotherapy in the last 6 months.

Structured clinical interview for DSM-IV: to measure diagnostic criteria for metnal disorders before waiting time, beofre treatment and after treatment. Interview zur Erfassung aversiver mentaler Bilder: to measure aversive thoughts and images before waiting time, before treatment, after treatment, and at follow-up.

Manchester Short Assessment of Quality of Life; Responses to Intrusions Questionnaire; BDI-II BAI SCL-90-R Rosenberg self-esteem scale & Self-Rating Scale Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale These self-reports will be filled out before waiting time, before treatment, after treatment and at follow-up.
