Smoking and second-hand smoke can harm the unborn during pregnancy. This study assesses the population level association between perinatal health outcomes, such as preterm birth and small for gestational age, and the intervention, i.e. the implementation of the smoke-free legislation. The population-level policy may have different effects on different socio-economic groups. We will therefore conduct stratified analyses on socio-economic status on the primary outcomes. Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: singleton births between 24 and 42 completed gestational weeks occuring between 2000-2016
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: multiple births, pregnancies with unknown gestational age, unknown birth weight
