Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: -ICU patients with a known obstructive pulmonary disease and / or an acute obstructive problem -Patient care (ward): interdisciplinary, operative, intensive care unit -Age> 18 years -Female or Male - ventilated patients with a Horovitz index <400, and a study-independent medical indication for salbutamol nebulization in obstructive pulmonary disease and / or an acute obstructive disease. -written consent or positive vote of a independent consultant
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: -Intensive patients with no medical indication and / or contraindication for inhaled salbutamol administration -Age 35) -Pre-existing conditions and operations: patients with chest trauma or surgery (e.g. pneumectomy), or other lung diseases (e.g. ARDS, pneumonia), ECMO therapy, neuromuscular diseases, severe cardiac diseases (eg NYHA III-IV), acute ischemic events, active implants (eg pacemakers, ICD) or thoracic skin lesions and wound dressings Refusal by patient, legal representative or consultant Patients with known salbutamol intolerance, existing pregnancy or lactation, long-term ventilation> 14 days, do-not-resuscitate order
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| This study evaluates the change of airway resistance 30 minutes after salbutamol inhalation and prior use of electrical chest impedance tomography (EIT) for optimization of the respirator setting | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Before and 30 minutes after salbutamol inhalation: - Changes made in respirator setting under EIT: Pinsp, PEEP, inspiration-expiration-ration, inspiratory time, respiratory rate, ventilation mode) - assessment of changes in tidal volume, alveolar pressures, compliance, arterial oxygen partial pressure (paO2), Horovitz index, arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure (paCO2), peripheral and arterial oxygen saturation, lower and upper inflection point of the pressure-volume curve, - Region of Interest (ROI), end-expiratory trend (deltaEELI) 30-day mortality mechanical ventilation duration of ICU treatment Hospital treatment period resumption rate on ICU | — |
