Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: problematic alcohol use with values = 8 on the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, AUDIT; access to a smartphone using Android (version 4.0 or above); sufficient German language skills; informed consent

Exclusion criteria: Under 18 years of age; no access to a smartphone using Android 4.4 or above; values < 8 on the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, AUDIT;

Primary

MeasureTime frame
After 14 days: App usability as assessed with the System Usability Scale, SUS.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
After 14 days: dysfunctional alcohol-specific beliefs as assessed by ratings of 20 dysfuctional statements on a 5-item scale; Implicit alcohol-related associations as assessed using the Brief Drinking Identity IAT (BDI-IAT); alcohol-related craving as assessed by rating 20 pictures showing alcoholic beverages; Risk consumption was assessed with an adapted version of the Trier Alcoholism Inventory (TAI).
