Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
A sensitization of GPs concerning dementia symptoms of their patients, especially those ones with migration background, should be achieved. GPs and physician assistants should get help to handle barriers in the contact with patients with migration background, for example language barriers or missing acceptance of dementia and shame. Important contacts to get infomation, practical tools and counselling as well as regional services to refer their patients to should be highlighted. After the three-month implementation phase, the achievement of these goals will be examined by an evaluation sheet to be completed by the participants. It contains both questions of the previously conducted cross-sectional survey to identify possible changes and new questions to evaluate the material.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Patients should be informed about dementia and sensitized to think about the syndrome. They should get encouraged to address symptoms of him- or herself as well as dependants early at a GP practice. The project sould enlight that dementia is a widely spread syndrome, noone has to be ashamed of it and symptoms should be identified early and addressed at a GP. Patients' attention should be drawn to regional services and further possibilities to get information and help, especially support for people with migration background. If these goals have been achieved will be checked by an evaluation form after the three-month implementation phase. Amongst others, it contains questions taken from the previously conducted cross-sectional survey to identify changes.
