Inclusion criteria: legal competence, Family doctor patient at the start of the study in October 2001

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: life expectancy less than 6 months

MeasureTime frame
onset of peripheral artery disease, death "Peripheral arterial disease" defined by an ankle-brachial index <0,9 at one of the check-ups after 1, 3,5 or 7 years. "Death" is determined by information in the doctor's documentation form or by a query to the residents' registration office.
