Inclusion criteria: legal competence, Family doctor patients at the time of study start in October 2001

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: life expactancy less than 6 months

combined end point: multiple falls, hospitalisation oder death. "Multiple falls" were recorded through a telephone interview after 7 years, "hospitalisation" through a telephone interview or through a physicians' documentation form, "death" was recorded through a physicians' documentation form or through a query at the residents' registration office.
