18 Years to 50 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) female and male patients at the age of 18 to 50 years of age with ACL rupture 2) subjects with enough knowledge of the German language and current medical insurance and high possibility of taking part in a 2 year follow up (no change of residency) 3) no patients with any preference for one of the two treatment options 4) patients who give the written consent to take part in the study (or the legal representative)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) patients with a cartilage damage (grade IV) which is shown on x-ray or the MRI scan, meniscus lesion with more than 2/3 of the meniscus (fixable meniscal tears are no exclusion criteria), diseases of extending structures such as patellasyndrom, injury of the PCL or/and the lateral collateral ligament, fracture, or in addition any other reason which needs to be presented through the doctor in charge with the necessary plausibility 2) pregnant women and breast feeding women.
