Group 1: In 30 patients with desflurane inhalation anesthesia daily exhaled air samples are taken over the period of 14 days and tested for the amount of exhaled anesthetic gas. Group 2: In 30 patient

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria include electively operated patients and the consent of the patient or caregiver. Thirty patients each are included in a group with desflurane anesthesia or sevoflurane anesthesia. Pre-existing conditions, premedication and dietary and smoking habits are not relevant for inclusion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria are emergency operations as well as patients who are expected to be ventilated longer postoperatively or have to be revised for the foreseeable future (Vacuum Assisted Closure therapy (VAC), etc.). A measurement in children / adolescents (<18 LJ) is not provided.
