Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (i) physically inactive men and women, defined by not meeting the American College of Sport Medicine’s (ACSM)/American Heart Association’s (AHA) physical activity recommendation for healthy adults or by not meeting the scoring criteria of “minimally active” in the International Physical Activity Questionnaire – Short Form (IPAQ-SF) (ii) age ranging between 18 and 65 (both inclusive) (iii) the physical and mental ability to participate in the physical exercise intervention as assessed by a physician.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (i) Evidence of an acute or chronic disease, which prevented a safe participation in the physical exercise intervention

| Physical literacy is measured by a questionnaire in both groups (case group/control group) at study baseline and after the 15weeks lasting phyiscal exercise intervention periode (follwo-up). Thereby, the questionaire to measure physical literacy (80 items) was redesigned, consisting of valid and reliable questionnaire subscales covering the domains of the holistic physical literacy model. Questionnaire subscales were adopted from the questionairs as follows: SMS28, SIMS, BREQ-2, FKB-20, Stanford Five City Study questionnaire, IPAQ-SF. | — |
