Eligibility

Sex/Gender
All
Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - patients suspicious for osteomyelitis of the jaw, age: =18 years, situation before surgery, informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute other illness such as infection, limited contractual capability, pregnancy, breast feeding women, contra-indication for MRT such as metallic implants, pacemaker etc, high sensitivity to noise or temperature, claustrophobia, contra-indication for MR-contrast agend gadolinium, adipositas (>150 kg body weight).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluation of diagnostic value of the dynamic PET/MR in regard to determine correct extention and activity of osteomyelities/necrosis of the jaw. Correlation with histopathological data after surgery (gold standard).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- Comparism of data from patients receiving bisphosphonate/denosumab therapy or showing osteoradionecrosis to identify pathophysiological differences. - Analysis of functional and metabolic parameters relating to time and cost reduction of diagnostic procedures. - Evaluation of PET/MR data relating to prognostic information for further clinical follow-up.
