Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Next of Kin were included if - they were at least 18 years of Age - had sufficient German language skills - were in contact with the patient at hospital during the last two days of life

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Next of Kin were excluded if - they were younger than 18 years of Age - had insufficient German language skills - missing contact to patient at hospital during the last two days of life - insufficient cognitive status or high emotional burden

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
A minimum number of 200 participants are required. Furthermore a minimum amount of 30 second next of kin will be invited to participate, so interrater reliability can be analysed. And 30 repeated measurements are required to survey the validity of the questionnaire.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
After inspection of content validity through a structured translation process following EORTC–Criteria, the questionnaire is considered valid if the following psychometric indices show satisfactory values: Internal consistency, construct validity, test retest reliability and interrater reliability.
