Group 1: Incremental cycle ergometer exercise up to 120 W for max. 15 min, blood sampling at 0 min, 15 min, 60 min and 120 min after cessation of exercise.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Males /, age = 18 years, =40 years - Signed informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Acute Heart attack 6 months prior to participation - Unstable Angina Pectoris and history of exercise induced angina - Symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias and/or compromised hemody-namics - Symptomatic severe aortic stenosis - Reported dilatation of arteries (aneurysms) at any site - Reported heart valve problems (stenosis or insufficiency) - Any symptomatic or reported stenosis of peripheral arteries - Congestive heart failure - Acute pulmonary embolism 6 months prior to participation - Acute myocarditis / pericarditis - Acute Aortic dissection - Limb Surgery 6 weeks prior to participation - Acute fracture 12 weeks prior to participation - Acute infection - Thromboembolism 3 months prior to participation - Severe Asthma bronchiale - Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus - Severe Vertigo - Uncontrolled arterial hypertension (BP >200 mmHg syst., >110 mmHg diast.) - Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or any other kind of outflow tract obstruction - Higher degree AV-Block - Any medical condition that might in the investigators opinion pose the subject at increased risk of experiencing a deterioration of his/her health status.

Elevation of Follistatin-like-3 levels in peripheral blood at 120 min after cycle ergometer exercise

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Intra-individual elevation of Follistatin, shedded and secreted alpha Klotho, Myostatin, CTGF, CYR61 (CCN1 and 2) upon short term cycle ergometer exercise.
