Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
By means of a questionnaire the following study aims / outcome are investigated 1. Association between anxiety level and request for support concerning coping with preoperative anxiety: - what is the predictive validity of an APAIS- anxiety > 10 to identify patients who request support to cope with their anxiety - is there a lower anxiety level threshold under which patients don't feel the need for support.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
2. Validation of the NRS to assess preperative anxiety using the APAIS as comparator 3. Identification of specific fears and their relevance 4. Significance of anxiolytic premedication from the patients point of view: - What is the general request for anxiolytic premedication - What is the correlation between anxiety level and request for anxiolytic medication - fraction of patients who only want anxiolytic premedication - fraction of patients who want anxiolytic premedication in combination with other measures - what is the optimal time to administer the anxiolytic medication? - what other measures do patients prefer / are requested ?
