Group 1: Physicians and nurses assess emergency patients following the triage algorithm. Furthermore, urgency is assessed retrospectively based on the medical records.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Physicians and nurses working in the neurological emergency room of the University Hospital Heidelberg during the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: missing informed consent

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Equivalence of physicians' and nurses' triage. Triage is performed independently by nurses and physicians and triage ratings (1-4) are compared directly.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- mean time between arrival of patients in the emergency room and triage. Comparison between physicians and nurses, time measured in minutes - Agreement of triage ratings with the retrospecitve assessment based on the medical report, comparison between physicians and nurses - Safety: Number of undertriaged patients, comparison between physicians and nurses
