40 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: acquired brain damage through ischemic cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage) age 40-80 years 1 - 10 weeks latency between brain damage and enrollment upper extremity paresis of grade 0-4/5 (MRC scale) informed consent (legally responsible patient or legal supervisor)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: neurological pre-existing condition with significant upper extremity paresis (MRC scale < 5) intolerance of biophysiological and neurophysiological examinations

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of upper extremity functionality in the affected upper extremity via upper extremity functioning test "Action Research Arm Test" (ARAT) on admission, four weeks and three months after enrollment.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Motor function in the affected upper extremity assessed by Fugl-Meyer score (FM) on admission, four weeks and three months after enrollment.
