Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: - Presence of Anorexia Nervosa or atypical AN considering DSM-5 criteria - first or second hospital admission on a child and adolescent psychiatric ward due to the eating disorder - Written informed consent by the patient and the parents - Patient’s home within a 60 minute drive from the hospital
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: - Patients who additionally suffer from a somatic brain disorder, psychotic disorder, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorder, serious self-injury, Borderline personality disorder, or serious other medical conditions. - Insufficient proficiency of the German language of either patient or parents - Cognitive abilites in the range of learning disability (< 85) as evaluated with standard diagnostic test procedures.

| Difference in BMI at hospital admission and at follow-up (52 weeks after hospital admission). Proportion of completed (by protocol) vs. discontinued Home treatment cases. Frequency of rehospitalizations across the observation period of 52 weeks after discharge from hospital; questionnaires and structured interview data (for an overview see below) of the patients regarding eating disorder symptoms, psychiatric comorbidity, weight restoration, motivation for therapy, general psychosocial functioning, Morgan-Russell-criteria to monitor the recovery process and hormonal levels (blood withdrawal); regarding the parents inquiry of parental burden, caretaker’s abilities in supporting the patient as well as the impact of the eating disorder on the familial dealing with the disorder; in patients and their parents inquiry of treatment satisfaction and subjective patient-therapist-relationship at beginning of home treatment, end of home treatment and 52 weeks after initial hospital admission.
