Group 1: Bone samples will be taken from deceased patients who had severe chronic renal insufficiency, and will be investigated by the use of material research methods such as: qBEI or Raman spectrosc

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Adults with severe chronic renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate <30 [ml / min / 1.73 m2] with or without dialysis) are included. • Patient with provided informed consent, obtained before his death.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Known genetic-related bone disease in the anamnesis

MeasureTime frame
This study should gain new insights into the relation between architecture and material properties of bone at different skeletal sites. As it is not clear whether the parameters measured from the iliac crest allow conclusions to be drawn about fracture-relevant skeletal sites (femoral neck, mid-shaft, head, vertebral body and forearm) in patients with severe renal insufficiency, this relevant question will be addressed.
