Group 1: Assessments at baseline (4th - 7th day after critical care admission), critical care discharge and hospital discharge: Chelsea Critical Care Physical Assessment tool (CPAx), Medical Research

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age: = 18 Jahre, intensive care stay with mechanical ventilation = 72h, sufficient command of German, written consent to participate in the study (proxy or if possible by the patient)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Scheduled discharge in the next 24 hours, new neurological admission diagnosis with functional deficits (including status after reanimation), expected palliative care, known pregnancy, pre-existing mental disability, living in a care facility or wheelchair user, external intensive care unit stay of >3 days or re-admission

Construct validity: We expect a high correlation of the CPAx (Chelsea Critical Care Physical Assessment tool) with the prevalence of a ICUAW (Intensive Care Unit Acquired Weakness). Consequently, we test the hypothesis, that the CPAx correlates with the diagnostic tool for ICUAW: the Medical Research Council sum score.	—
